1. Who we are

Wisescores (“we”, “us”) operates the website and related services. For privacy questions, contact contact@wisescores.com or use /contact.

2. Data we collect

Depending on how you use Wisescores, we may process:

• Account data — name, email address, and profile image (for example from Google sign-in), plus account timestamps
• Authentication data — email one-time codes (stored as secure digests), session tokens, and related security signals used to prevent abuse
• Favourites — teams and leagues you save
• Saved generated bets — JSON snapshots of bet ideas you choose to save to your profile
• Marketing preference — whether you are opted in to marketing emails
• Contact messages — name, email, and message content when you use the contact form
• Usage analytics — device and usage information via Google Analytics only if you accept analytics cookies
• Local device storage — for example guest favourite leagues and your cookie consent choice

3. How we use data

We use personal data to:

• Create and secure your account, and keep you signed in
• Provide profile, favourites, and saved-bet features
• Send account and security messages (such as one-time sign-in codes)
• Send marketing emails when you are opted in (see Marketing emails below)
• Respond to support requests
• Protect the service (rate limits, fraud and abuse prevention)
• Understand product usage when analytics cookies are accepted
• Comply with legal obligations where applicable

4. Marketing emails

When you register for a Wisescores account, you are automatically opted in to receive emails about news, tips, and updates from Wisescores. There is no separate marketing checkbox on sign-up; the preference defaults to on for new accounts.

You can revoke marketing emails at any time while signed in: open Profile → Settings → Email preferences and uncheck “I agree to receive emails about news, tips, and updates from Wisescores.” You can opt back in later with the same control.

One-time sign-in codes, security notices, and replies to messages you send us are transactional or support communications — they are not marketing emails and may still be sent when marketing is off.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies to run authenticated sessions and optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used.

Analytics cookies load only after you accept them in our cookie banner. Essential cookies required for sign-in and core security are always used. See our Cookie Policy at /cookies for categories and how to change your choice.

6. Service providers and processors

We use trusted providers to operate Wisescores, including:

• Hosting and delivery (for example Vercel)
• Database hosting (PostgreSQL via Neon)
• Caching and security rate limits (Redis)
• Email delivery for contact form and one-time codes (SMTP)
• Google — for Google sign-in, and for Analytics when you consent
• API-Football — for football match, team, and odds data (fixture data is not your account profile)

These providers process data on our instructions where they act as processors, or under their own terms where they act as independent controllers (for example Google Analytics after consent).

7. Retention

We keep account and related personal data while your account is active. If you delete your account from Profile → Settings, we permanently remove your user record and associated personal data such as favourites, saved generated bets, and authentication tokens, subject to short-term backups and any data we must keep for legal or security reasons.

Contact form emails may be retained in our support inbox as needed to handle your request. Analytics data follows Google Analytics retention settings when analytics is enabled.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can:

• Update marketing preferences in Profile → Settings
• Delete your account in Profile → Settings
• Change analytics cookie consent on /cookies or via the cookie banner
• Contact us at contact@wisescores.com to make a privacy request

9. Security

We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to our MVP, including hashed one-time codes, session controls, and abuse rate limits. No online service is perfectly secure; please protect your email and Google account.

10. Children

Wisescores is not directed at children. Do not use the service if you are below the age required in your country to agree to these terms and use sports-betting-related tools.

11. International processing

Our providers may process data in the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, or other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards offered by those providers.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Significant changes may also be highlighted in-product or by email where appropriate.
