1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We also use similar browser storage (such as localStorage) for preferences like guest favourites and your cookie consent choice.

2. Essential cookies

Essential cookies are required for Wisescores to work securely when you sign in. They include session and authentication cookies used by NextAuth so we can keep you logged in and protect account actions.

These cookies do not require consent through the banner because the signed-in product cannot function without them. They are not used for advertising.

3. Analytics cookies

If you accept analytics cookies, we load Google Analytics to understand how people use Wisescores (for example which pages are visited). This helps us improve the product.

Analytics cookies are optional. They are not loaded until you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you choose Essential only (Reject), Google Analytics will not load.

4. Local storage

We may store non-essential preferences in localStorage, including:

• Your cookie consent choice (accepted or rejected)
• Guest favourite leagues before you sign in
• Certain UI preferences (for example expand/collapse settings on generated bets)

Local storage for guest favourites is separate from analytics cookies. Clearing site data in your browser will remove these preferences.

5. Cookie banner

On your first visit (or after you reset your choice), a banner explains essential and optional analytics cookies.

Accept — saves your choice, hides the banner, and enables Google Analytics.

Essential only — saves your choice, hides the banner, and keeps analytics off.

You can still browse Wisescores, sign in, and use core features if you choose Essential only.

6. How to change your preference

Use the controls on this page to switch between accepting analytics cookies and essential-only mode, or to clear your choice so the banner appears again.

You can also clear site data for Wisescores in your browser settings. That removes the stored consent and may sign you out.
